Traveling to Gracias
Gracias is located in Western Honduras about 185 Kilometers from San Pedro Sula and abut 250 Kilometers from Tegucigalpa the Capital City. Coming to Gracias from San Pedro Sula takes about 2.5 hours. There are modern buses going from San Pedro Sula to Santa Rosa de Copan every half hour and from Santa Rosa to Gracias very 45 minutes.
From Tegucigalpa the easiest route these days is through La Esperanza. The bus from Tegucigalpa takes about 3.5 hours to La Esperanza and a second bus from La Esperanza to Gracias takes about 2 hours.
You can also go to Gracias from Tegucigalpa via San Pedro Sula if you like the long route. The bus takes about 4 hours from Tegucigalpa to San pedro Sula but the ride is on first class bus service.
The trip to Gracias is beautiful and the crossing Central Honduras you see amazing scenery through Pine Forests and beautiful colonial towns and friendly people all the way.
